Snobby Burger was the venture between 2018 MasterChef winner Laurence Henry and Johnny Puztai from the excellent butchers of the same name in Sherwood.
Lockdown has ruined most of the fun for us foodies but it has also opened up a new world of collection from pop-ups, cafe windows, and doorways
This particular one being from the side window of Johnny’s Butcher shop strictly by order
Some people order, collect and take home, we were ordering collecting and then scoffing in the front seat of the car in a nearby well known park and ride
The Burger came wrapped up in branded newspaper in a box along with a side of fries.
Opening it up looked a real feast and a great big juicy burger. It might not look as pretty as one served up on a plate. But these days we are taking what we can get
The signature burger is made from a blend of chuck beef, herbs and spices. Texture wise it is super meaty and a great big solid bite. I wasn’t totally sold on the herbiness but I was still enjoying my bite.
There was an unami glaze which aimed to make it taste even meatier, molten mature cheddar, and caramelised onions were much more familiar to the taste buds
A special mention has to go to the bun, a brioche one, backed locally by Baz the Baker. It was nice and fresh and full of airy pockets, a perfect container for the burger
All in a all a most enjoyable meaty bite, even better as it was one that you really had to work to track down and eat. One of a kind and a limited edition burger experience, captured in a moment of time
