The Circle Eatery in Bingham is located just a few steps away from the market place on Market Street and is a great spot to grab a bite of food if you are visiting the area
We popped in during a trip to the weekly market hoping to find a spot of late breakfast and we were in luck grabbing one of the last few tables in a very busy dining room
They pride themselves on serving food ‘sourced as locally as possible’ and have ‘a real focus on using simple, fresh ingredients’ that sounds good to me
BREAKFAST MENU AT THE CIRCLE EATERY

As I sat perusing the breakfast menu my first thoughts were my delight at reading that they serve breakfast until 1pm that was brilliant news! I hate it when I go somewhere and just miss the cut off point for brekkie 🧐
They were offering Breakfast Cobs with the usual combinations of sausage, eggs and bacon, and also a ‘Cracking Eggs‘ option where you can go all posh getting Eggs Benedict, Royale, or Florentine.
I however had my eyes and heart firmly set on a Full English breakfast of some sort so my options were between The Circle’s Big Breakfast (2 eggs, 3 sausage, 3 bacon, 2 hash browns, beans, mushroom, tomato and toast) or The Circle’s Breakfast (1 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, hash browns beans, mushroom, tomato and toast). The decision coming down to how much food I thought I could eat and how much I wanted to spend!
THE CIRCLE’S BREAKFAST

In the end I played it safe or light opting for the slightly smaller plate ordering The Circle’s Breakfast for £12.50 described on the menu as ‘Egg cooked to your liking, 2 grilled sausages and 2 smokey bacon, tomato and mushroom. hash brown, beans and toast“
The highlight on the plate was the crispy smoked bacon sourced from the nearby Clive Lancaster & Sons Butchers. I cannot recall having had such good bacon in a cafe for a long time. It was so good that as soon as we left we went straight to the butcher to buy some
The meaty herby sausage, also from the same butcher, was also excellent however it was perhaps a little too flavoured for a breakfast sausage but since it was a brunch sausage I let it go.
The egg with a soft golden yolk and well firmed up white was perfect for me as I like mine ‘sunny side up’ although others might like it turning. The menu does say ‘cooked to your liking‘ so I am sure that they would oblige a fussier bogger 🤣

I was delighted at how well the tomato was prepared as it was cooked all the way through so that it was soft and sweet perfect for mixing with the juicy grilled mushrooms
The hash brown was crispy and well coloured, I am not a fan of this particular breakfast item but I am learning to accept it’s existence as it seems popular among the masses. I view it as filling and if my mate was here I would be trying an audacious swap for one of his sausages
The beans were fine enough once I had released them from their pottery ramekin so that they could roam freely across the plate to join their breakfast friends. I did restrain them a little though between the toast and the sausages, perching the egg out of reach, after all I am not an animal! 😎😂like the hash brown they are viewed as just plate fillers but I like them sometimes and today was one of those days. I was hungry.

I really enjoyed my breakfast, it was really well cooked and you could tell that they had used good produce with excellent provenance. I always say that you can judge a breakfast by the quality of the sausage and the bacon and they both shone through on the plate here at The Circle Eatery.
As I said up top after we ate we visited Clive Lancaster & Sons and we have been back again before I got around to writing this for more bacon, sausage, black pudding and eggs. I only ate here last week so they must be good.
Anyway back to The Circle Eatery! You can find them at 7 Market Place in Bingham, Nottingham, NG13 8AP and you can check them out on their Website, Facebook page, and Instagram profile
We didn’t book but it was busy and I would suggest that on a Market day or weekend it might be a good idea.

Looks good. All the best for 2024!
