Two Treasure Hand Pulled Noodles on Forman Street – Big Plate Chicken

Two Treasure Hand Pulled Noodles on Forman Street have taken over the space formerly occupied by Noodlee in the midst of the action on Trinity Square

I popped in with the full intention of ordering a bowl of their Beef Brisket Ramen with Langzhou Noodles having tried it and loved it previously at their Cambridge location (Read More Here)

At the last minute I pivoted and ordered the BIG PLATE CHICKEN NOODLES a non soup dish I have previously loved at Lanzhou Noodles on Market Street, partly to compare and partly to avoid soup drippage on my clean shirt!

The menu details this as;

“Hand-pulled noodles paired with tender chicken, potatoes, and green peppers, simmered in a rich, spicy sauce. The bold flavours soak into the chewy noodles, creating a hearty and satisfying meal with every bite”

The menu description was spot on, it was a very filling and enjoyable bowl of food.

The star of the bowl being those wide flat hand pulled noodles which did indeed soak up all the flavour. They were chewy in the best way with an excellent pull to the bite. A comment I am also pleased to make on my noodles as it means I am getting some really great ones

The Chicken was so well cooked that it fell off the bone so you don’t have to fiddle about to much getting all that tasty flesh. Sure there are still a lot of bones but you can suck off any remaining bits that stay attached quite easily

I was very happy to find that there was way more meat than potato which was most generous but I have to say that the soft spuds were so good I wanted more. They had soaked up a lot of flavour from the broth and it was devine

The sauce had a decent kick of spice, a little bit of numbing action from the cloves and a good tang to pucker the taste buds. It was a pretty rich sauce like a good thick gravy and it clung to those noodles so all the flavours were there in each bite

I thoroughly enjoyed this dish and I will be back soon for the Lanzhou noodles and the brisket! 🤓🔥😎 I think I like it better than the version at Lanzhou Noodles and it really hurts me to admit it

I commented on the Cambridge joint noting that they had been recognised by The Observer who listed them in ‘The best places in Britain to eat noodles’ this year. Reading that article I recognised many noodle joints I have visited and loved across the country including Everyday People here in Nottingham so it was good to see them on that list as they must be doing something right!
